Learning visual studio

I've noticed going through the nuclex code that you have an extremely in-depth understanding of the particulars of the build interface as well as the project and solution management systems of visual studio. So much so that it's hard to follow at times, do you have any recommended resources for learning how for example to build up highly integrated projects like the nuclex solution file? From the way I've explored it so far I seem to be doing alot of manual modifications of file names in areas that it appears a dynamic option probably exists and just isn't obvious (otherwise it's just designed to be tedious).

any suggestions?
