I'm Becoming Rich!

in

That's right! Your webmaster is going to swim in money! World of the rich and famous, here I come!

Oh well, I've been experimenting with Google AdSense for the past few days and today I noticed that I have earned almost a dollar. Almost a dollar in only two days. Okay, minus income tax, for the penny pickers, but that's less than one fifth of my dollar. Pfft. Peanuts!

In conclusion this means that in just about 1692 years I will be able to afford myself a Lamborghini Murcielago. I sincerely hope you keep some of the earth's oil reserves around for me until then. Feels great earning your first fully independent money!

Okay, I've got myself under control again. I intensely dislike advertising and spam (in fact, I've taken the fight to the hosting providers of spam and SEO sites more than once), so this was a difficult decision for me. I'll keep the ads limited and stay clear of anything that might annoy my visitors :)

Your math is all wrong...

What will happen is after 200 days your total will be over $100 at which point you will think you are getting a check. Instead you will get an email from google saying that they have traced clickfraud on your site and they take all the money back.. so it will take you an infitie amoungof time to buy anything.
Either they are jsut ripping of small site owners or some of your friends and supporters thought they were helping you by clicking on the ads and google noticed.
Oh of course by telling us what you earned you also broke googles aAdSense agreement so they can use that to take your money back too.
Yes I'm bitter...

Ouch

Is it really *that* bad? I mean, I have seen some weird stories about AdSense but I dismissed those guys as annoyed webmasters that tried to push their earnings somehow.

I removed the exact amount, but I think this is allowed by the agreement. Here's an excerpt from the Google AdSense Terms and Conditions, Section 7 Part (c):
["Google Confidential Information" includes without limitation:] any other information designated in writing by Google as "Confidential" or an equivalent designation. However, You may accurately disclose the amount of Google’s gross payments to You pursuant to the Program.

In any case, thanks for the warning, I'll keep an eye on this!
