Next Game + Hurricane

First Indie Game

I'm just about to begin working on my first indie game. Ball Race, my freeware indie launch title, has been well received (over 1000 downloads in a month) even thought it's sort of boring (:D) and wasn't actively advertised -- other than some news coverage on the sites of my fellow XNA developers (thanks!) and one Image of the Day at gamedev.net.

I won't reveal any details yet, but the new game will be a lightweight 3D action-strategy game with a story driven campaign. I'm probably going to need some modeling help later in this project, but I will push this game to a playable state first, with placeholder graphics and sounds :)

Hurricane

Originally, I had planned on putting together a new release of Nuclex.Fonts this evening, but there was a small hurricane in the area near the end of the week that uprooted lots of trees, creating a great obstacle course in the local forests. My favorite jogging route was totally buried. Well, I couldn't help but go out there every day since the past week. Today, I took my camera with me, here are some shots from the forest trail I used to jog on:

I haven't had such an intense workout with so diversified movements (due to the constant jumping and climbing) in a long time. Normally I can do the 10 km (~ 6.2 mi) in about 55 minutes. Now, after 55 minutes, I barely managed to pave my way through about half of the trail. My heart rate got close to 200 bpm several times, making coordinated movement rather difficult. Here's an image I tried to take of my watch's recording after the run:

This shouldn't stall my projects for long, thought :)
